RJ strives to show the complexity of the music thru his sets and strives to educate the masses on the beauty of House music, and the differences in the style compared to other genres of electronic...From the minute RJ was born music and dancing called to him like an animal instinct! His B-boyism, started at the tender age of 9, when in 1983 his dad took him to see the movie Beat Street...From that moment RJ knew all he wanted to do was boogie...RJ grew up in Los Angeles getting many influences in his music...From the Persian and Middle Eastern music he would experience at home, to the popular Pop/Rock/and early Hip Hop, and Dance music of the early 80's and 90's! He perfected his break dancing techniques and in early 1989 joined up with West Coast Rock Steady Crew under the alias Boogie1...at the same time his closest friends whom were also dancers and DJ's were coming together and eventually RJ and his friends started there own crew called Daisy Tribe...at this point Hip Hop was at its peak...with groups like Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, and Tribe called Quest paving the way, But when Gangster Rap hit the scene, RJ lost his taste in the B-boy culture, due to the negativity in the style!...Then in 1990 one of RJ's friends known to many now as Jimmy J-cutz switched to playing house music...From the very first experience RJ fell in love with the seductive beats and the way that it would make him move...and the rest as they say, is history! The more RJ experienced the early rave and house culture in Los Angeles spending many nights dancing at the famous Florentine Gardens with the original house crew...of POWER TOOLS... the more he fell in love with the Utopian atmosphere that it brought! And then in 1993 RJ put his hands on the first set of tables at J-Cutz house and it was over! From spinning on his back to spinning tracks was an easy transition for RJ... knowing what beats make the people move was an advantage... as a DJ it helped him rock the crowds...as a dancer it gave him a beat to move to! After traveling half the world and partying/spinning at some of the most beautiful clubs and locations RJ came home to Los Angeles to see the scene had changed for the worst...It was no longer about the music but more about the drugs and business side of it! Heartbroken RJ laid down his headphones and retired from the scene and the music he loves so dearly... Then in the summer of 2002 one of RJ friends called desperate it seems that the DJ for the Breast Cancer Charity Auction she was hosting had FLAKED! Knowing RJ was a DJ she called and begged him to do it and with reluctance he agreed and did the gig for them in company of Evan Marriott of the Bachelor reality show, It was after this volunteer performance that RJ got bitten by the beat bug again, and realized what he must do! Now in 2005 RJ Spinher is back with a vengeance and is working hard to return the scene back to its luster! When asked where his name comes from?
